You asked, so we asked.

Several residents reached out with questions about when public engagement would begin for Lenexa’s Trail Alignment Study…. especially for neighborhoods and property owners near the proposed routes.

We directed those questions to the City to help bring clarity to where public engagement falls in this process. According to Lenexa Parks and Recreation Director Logan Wagler, the study is still in the early planning stages. Potential alignments are being evaluated, but no final route or construction plan has been approved.

The city says neighborhood meetings, open houses and other public engagement would occur if a specific trail segment is approved to move into formal design. Property owners whose lots abut a proposed trail would be among those included, with notification expected through direct mail, HOA contacts, social media and a city project page.

The timeline is still to be determined.
