Is YOUR Park Next? began when Lenexa residents learned that publicly owned parkland near their neighborhoods could be transferred for private development. What started as an effort to protect one piece of land quickly uncovered larger concerns about transparency, public engagement, and how major city decisions are made.

Residents began asking questions, reviewing public records, attending meetings, and sharing information that was often difficult to find or understand. From that effort, Is YOUR Park Next? grew into a broader civic accountability project focused on helping Lenexa residents understand what their local government is doing and giving them the information they need to speak up before decisions are final.

Because it started with one park, but it was never only about one park.
