𝐒𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐰𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐋𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐚 𝐧𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐚𝐲 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠.⁣

If you live in The Timbers at Clear Creek, Canyon Creek, Silverleaf, Brampton, near Mize Lake, along Mize Road or near the future 83rd Street extension, now is the time to look at these proposed trail routes and ask questions… not after the plans are finished.⁣

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐥 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬:⁣

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐤: Four segments totaling 1.39 miles are proposed between 83rd and 91st Streets, west of Clare Road. The route includes an HOA connection, and 0.24 miles are identified as privately owned. The packet also lists “navigating neighboring community relationships” as a potential challenge. Estimated construction cost: $2.11 million, not including property acquisition.⁣

𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐤/𝐌𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐤𝐞: A 2.1-mile connection is proposed west of Canyon Creek Boulevard, connecting with the Mize Lake trail system and Cedar Station Park. About 0.48 miles are privately owned. Estimated construction cost: $3.85 million, not including property acquisition.⁣

𝐌𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐝/𝐟𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝟖𝟑𝐫𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐭: The 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 would cross fields east and west of Mize Road and eventually connect with the Clear Creek trail system. The City says the goal is to plan the trail location before more subdivisions are developed in the area. The currently priced segment is estimated at $459,000, not including property acquisition.⁣

𝐒𝐢𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐟 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐭𝐨𝐧: These neighborhoods are part of the 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐇𝐨𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, which staff recommends moving forward first. The route would connect Buffalo Meadows Park to Black Hoof Park, add a spur connecting with a planned private trail in Silverleaf and reconstruct the trail through Brampton. Portions of the route are owned by an HOA and Nelson Development.⁣

The Black Hoof project has an estimated construction cost of $1.706 million, not including property acquisition. Staff is asking for direction to move forward with up to $96,020 in additional design work, including final alignment, public engagement and construction documents.⁣

This is not final construction approval, but it is an important step toward turning a preliminary route into an actual project.⁣

Also on the agenda is a proposed 𝐍𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦. The one-year pilot would set aside $20,000 and offer grants of up to $2,000 for entrance signs, landscaping, walkways, playground equipment and other public-facing improvements. Active HOAs, inactive or dissolved HOAs, and neighborhoods that never had an HOA could all apply.⁣
